Who I am

This website is run by Ryan Amie, trading as Local Lighthouse, a local SEO service based in Berkshire, United Kingdom. I am the data controller responsible for any personal information you share with me through this site. You can reach me using the contact form on the site.

What information I collect

When you fill in the enquiry form I collect the details you give me: your name, your business name, your town or area, your email address, and anything you write in your message. I also receive basic technical data that my hosting sets automatically, such as your IP address and standard server logs, which help keep the site secure and working.

Why I collect it and my legal basis

I use your details for one purpose: to reply to your enquiry and prepare the free audit or service you asked about. Under UK GDPR my legal basis is your consent when you submit the form, and my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact my business. I do not use your details for anything else, and I never sell them.

Who I share it with

This site is hosted on WordPress.com, run by Automattic, which stores the site and the form entries on my behalf. The contact form and its spam filtering are provided by Jetpack and Akismet, also part of Automattic. These providers process data only to run the site and are bound by their own data agreements. I do not share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Cookies

The site uses a small number of essential cookies set by WordPress.com and Jetpack to keep it running and to guard against spam. It does not use advertising or tracking cookies to build a profile of you.

How long I keep it

I keep your enquiry for as long as I need it to reply and, if you go on to become a client, for the length of our working relationship and a reasonable period afterwards for my records. If nothing comes of an enquiry, I delete it once it is clearly no longer needed. You can ask me to delete your details at any time.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how I use it, and to ask me to restrict or transfer it. To exercise any of these, just contact me through the form and I will respond. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy from time to time as the business grows or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
